Petunias, heat-tolerant and low-maintenance, thrive with controlled-release fertilizer at planting for both landscapes and containers. For containers, regular water-soluble fertilizer every two months ensures optimal performance. If plants look tired, a trim of up to 1/3 of the volume, followed by water-soluble fertilizer, promotes fuller growth and more blooms. Repeat as needed throughout the season.
